Finding a family in Athens.
I am trying to sleep before my flight but it is impossible.
I am in an AirBnB in Tbilisi and just had an amazing week exploring this beautiful country. But at 2.15 am my alarm really goes off! I try to jump out of bed and peel my eyes open. Time to fly to Athens!
Time to fly to Athens!
Upon arrival, Panos is picking me and my friend Ramona up from the airport. Still contemplating about sleep but Panos’ enthusiasm makes me forget I am wrecked! We head straight to the beach for freddo espresso and slowly I realise how beautiful my surroundings are.
The next days are spent with beautiful human beings!
As a hospitality expert, Panos really knows how to bring people together.
I attended his Airbnb experience paparazzi tour, had home-cooked meals, spent time on the beach with other guests and went to Taverna’s to experience more Greek hospitality!
I travel a lot!
Some people even wonder why I have an apartment in Berlin but we all need a base! My travel rule in general is, that I don’t visit the same place twice, especially not shortly after each other. But after a wonderful summer in the Greek sun, I decided to swap a cold and grey winter for a slightly warmer and hopefully sunnier winter in Athens.
Athens to me feels like a pink fluffy cushion with wonderful souls
Many of the people I met in summer have stayed in touch and I will meet them again this winter. Athens to me feels like a pink fluffy cushion with wonderful souls. And some chaos as well of course! It is still Greece!
